THE COMPASS SCHOOL FEES – SESSION 2020-21
The Compass School is a charity and the fees are linked to the number of children, the teachers’ salaries, the anticipated overheads and repair expenditure of the School. They will be kept as reasonable as possible.
From September 2020, the tuition fees per term will be:
Form 1 (Reception)* 5 mornings + 2 afternoons £2305.00
5 mornings + 3 afternoons £2677.00
5 mornings + 4 afternoons £3003.00
Forms 2 and 3 £3003.00
Forms 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 £3475.00
*The School is currently in Pre-School Partnership with East Lothian Council. A proportion of the cost of fees will be offset by an early years education grant distributed by East Lothian Council.
The absence of a pupil does not lessen the cost of running the School, therefore the School much regrets that it is unable to refund fees.
Registration Fee: A non-refundable Registration Fee of £40 is requested when your child’s name is put on the school list.
Deposit: Two terms before the child is due for entrance an acceptance form will be sent with a request for a deposit of £250 which will be deducted from the final term’s fees.
Notice: A full term’s notice in writing must be given of the withdrawal of a child from school; otherwise the next term’s fees will be charged.
When there are three children from one family concurrently attending the school, a reduction of a third of the tuition fees of the youngest child will be offered.
The charges for lunch per term are:
£120.00 for lunch two days a week.
£180.00 for lunch three days a week.
£240.00 for lunch four days a week.
The charge for milk is £8.00 per term.
Recorder lessons will be £70.00 per term.
Instrumental tution will be £20.00 per half hour lesson.
Fees are payable in advance and payment must be made:
(a) In full before the beginning of each term.
(b) By Direct Debit on a 10 monthly basis from September to June.
Late payment incurs a penalty surcharge of 4% above the Bank of Scotland base rate for accounts still unpaid after three weeks. Reminder notices for unpaid tuition fees and extras will be issued three weeks after the start of each term. Subsequent reminder letters will incur a £20 administration fee.
