A Question of Sport

Ignite an Interest Workshop Forms 6 - 8
Friday 10th October 1.30pm - 4pm

**Please Remember a Packed Lunch**

It’s hard to decide who will be more excited about this next Ignite an Interest session, the children or us parents? We have, what we believe to be, our most impressive array of speakers yet. So on your marks, under starter’s orders, quiet please……let's learn about careers in Sport.
Which Course to Take...
To tee off we welcome Robbie Clyde, Project Manager of last week’s Ryder Cup. Surely the greatest golf tournament of all time? Last week’s incredible event, staged on the beautiful course at Gleneagles, took years in the planning and Robbie will be telling us all about the career path he took that led him to one of the best jobs in the sport. Wonder what his handicap is?
Fast Track to Success...
Next off the blocks we welcome the incredible Lynsey Sharp. A truly inspirational young lady, who despite being in hospital the night before, ran the race of her life to secure the silver medal at this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The European Champion at 800m in 2012, Lynsey also represented Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics. Let’s have lots of questions for Lynsey as she is bound to be fast!
Tackling the Future...
Representing your country is the dream of every sportsman/woman. Leading your team out as the Captain is as good as it gets. Welcome, Andrew Rose, Captain for the Zimbabwe Sables, Boroughmuir Captain and The Compass School’s Director of Rugby. Andrew assures us he won’t pass on any of your questions, he’ll tackle whatever you throw at him. He is definitely on the ball!
Movie Night...
The Compass School Foundation's Movie Night also falls on Friday 10th October, 6pm – 8pm. We appreciate that collecting the children at 4pm and then bringing them back for 6pm can be a little challenging so we are proposing that the children stay with us. We will take them out for a bite to eat, perhaps pasta/pizza, before returning to school to watch Mrs Doubtfire.

There is a small charge of £7 for food and drinks and the children will need £5 for Movie Night.
Please reply to this email to confirm attendance of the Ignite an Interest session and please inform us if your child/children plan to stay for tea and Movie Night.
